Chasing Shadows

Chasing Shadows is the official first chapter of The House of the Dead III.

Synopsis

One day, several years before the Curien Mansion incident...

A flashback of Dr. Roy Curien and his son Daniel is shown. Curien says that he will "gladly step into forbidden territory' as means of saving his son's life.

Two weeks later...

Cut to the present day, Lisa Rogan and Agent "G" arrive at the outskirts of the DBR laboratory by car, having lost contact with Thomas Rogan for two weeks. Lisa promised her mother to bring back her father as they prepare to enter the building.

G shoots the lock of the steel gate to open it as they fight mutants along the way to the building.

Midway through their journey, the mutant security guard, revealed to be Death, reemerges from under the ground to chase and attack Lisa and G.

Entrance Path

Lisa and G manage to reach the building by its entrance lobby as they fight mutants along the way, but Death breaks through the building by shattering one of its windows. They find an emergency door, but notices a "No Entry" sign before going to the elevator hall as the shutter closes in time. Death persists by banging the shutter in an attempt to break it but to no avail as Lisa and G reach the elevator in time.

Parking Path

Lisa and G manage to reach the building by going down the stairs to the underground parking lot, but Death jumps down in pursuit as they slide under the elevator hall's shutter before it closes. Death persists by banging the shutter in an attempt to break it but to no avail as Lisa and G reach the elevator in time.

Ending

G asks Lisa if she's alright, to which she responds by saying she is "just a little shaken up". They then talked about Rogan, which Lisa and G's current mission reminds her of.
