Humans are inferior organisms...

Hunter's Files introduction[src]

Guillaume (ギヨーム, Giyōmu?), also referred to as the Genius, was a former scientist who later became a vampire serving under Auguste. He is an antagonist and the second boss of Vampire Night, a 2000 spiritual successor to the House of the Dead series.

Exiled from society due to his inhumane experiments, Guillaume developed a hatred towards humanity. When Auguste was threatened by vampire hunters Michel and Albert, Guillaume attempted to stop them. He was ultimately defeated after a battle on the castle rooftops.

Guillaume has pyrokinetic powers and can transform into a winged vampire. His weak point is his entire body.

History[]

This former scientist was infamous for using people for his cruel experiments. He was exiled from human society when his experiments were exposed. His anger and desire for revenge against humankind increased after he became a vampire.

Hunter's Files entry[src]

Guillaume's exact origins are unclear, but even before becoming a vampire, he was sadistic and deranged man. At some point in the past, he conducted human experimentation in secret in his homeland, but after his cruel experiments were exposed, Guillaume was forcibly exiled. Resentful and consumed with hatred, the mad scientist swore revenge on humankind. Guillaume was eventually recruited by the vampire Count Auguste, who turned him into a full-fledged vampire himself. Using his newfound knowledge on vampires, Guillaume conducted experiments to create more powerful monstrosities for his master's army. As a vampire, Guillaume's misanthropy seemingly intensified to the point of viewing vampires as inherently superior to humans.

When Michel and Albert first entered the town, he was intrigued by the vampire hunters abilities, remarking at the pair being "interesting experimental material". Following Bathe'lemy's defeat, Guillaume was the next to confront the vampire hunters, taking Caroline as his hostage, and forcing the hunters to pursue him, all the while sending his minions to fight the hunters.

It quickly became apparent that his genius mind had long since become dangerously unstable, and he was given to to maniacal laughter throughout the entire chase. Finally, Guillaume confronts the hunters on top of a tower, transforming into his true form, a large winged vampire, capable of unleashing a powerful cutting laser from the monocle-like lens over his right eye. Despite his increased mobility, he is defeated, reverting back to his human form. However, still unwilling to accept defeat at the hands of humans, he instead commits suicide by throwing himself off the edge of the tower, still laughing maniacally.

Guillaume's relationship with his fellow vampires was apparently a distant one. Upon receiving news of Bathe'Lemy's death, he seemed less concerned with the loss of a comrade, and more incredulous that the knight was defeated by mere humans. He is also shown to have a strained relationship with Rauoul, with the latter not yet having fully embraced his vampirism, and being looked down upon by Guillaume as a result. The feelings of animosity were apparently mutual, when Diane informed him of Guillaume's death, Rauoul simply told her that he deserved it.

Skills and abilities[]

In addition to his great agility, Guillaume's vampiric power has given him pyrokinesis, the ability to create and control fireballs.

True form[]

Guillaume's true form. The large wings enable him to fly freely. Tubes throughout his body supply energy from his inner core to the laser attached to his right eye. The laser emits a powerful cutting beam. However, he has difficulty aiming due to the large energy burst produced when using the laser.

True Form[src]

In his true form, Guillaume transforms into a gargoyle-like creature, possessing a pair of large wings that enable him to fly freely. Tubes throughout his body supply energy from his inner core to the laser emitter, attached like a monocle over his right eye, that was able to project a powerful cutting beam. However, he has difficulty aiming due to the recoil produced by the large energy burst of the weapon. Guillaume's weak point is his entire body as he has no other form of protection other than his ability to fly rapidly.
