Gary Stewart is an AMS Agent. He made his debut in House of the Dead 2.

Gary and James Taylor were sent to neutralize a new undead threat. They defeat the huge Judgment and the fish-like Hierophant before meeting up with two other agents, Harry Harris and Amy Crystal. They find out that the undead attack was organised by a man named Caleb Goldman who used the same technology that the main villain of The House of the Dead, Dr. Roy Curien, used to create his undead.

Gary and James go through a system of underground tunnels to get to the coliseum where Goldman has told them to go. Along the way they meet Tower, a huge multi-headed snake beast which had already killed a large number of civilians. After defeating Tower, they arrive at the coliseum and find Amy and Harry trapped, with Harry seriously injured by a huge chainsaw wielding beast called Strength. They defeat it and Harry gives the agents a key to a car they could use to get to Goldman's headquarters.

After encountering Judgment and Hierophant again and defeating them, they are attacked outside the headquarters by Magician, the final boss of the first game, that had been resurrected by Goldman. This time, however, the agents have the advantage because they know the creature's weakpoints which Thomas Rogan and G learned. They travel to the top floor of the building and confront Goldman. Goldman then unleashes his best creation, Emperor ,who was made to rule over humanity. James and Gary defeat the mutation after a long fight and Goldman commits suicide.

Trivia

• Gary's only other appearance in the series is during a flashback in The House of the Dead 4.
• Gary wields a IMI Desert Eagle.
• His appearance is similar to Leon S. Kennedy of the Resident Evil series.
• Like James Taylor, Gary also shares the name of the singer of the same name. It is unknown if it was named after him or just a coincidence.
• Amy might be Gary's Girlfriend because she interacts with him more than the others.
• He is the agent shown on the boss mode of House of the Dead 2.
• He is the only one besides Curien that says the Magician's name, if the player plays as him on single player after defeating the Magician he says, "You're the only one who's gonna get defeated, Magician!"
• Gary appears in Loving Deads: The House of the Dead EX as a cameo in Chapter 3's Detective Zobiko
• He was the only character in The House of the Dead 2 that had a half-decent voice actor.
• He was voiced by Corey Bringas, who is known for portraying Tails in Sonic Adventure. He was young at the time, so he conjured a deeper voice to sound more adult-like. The other half of the acting was done by an unknown person.
• Somehow, Gary's face and hairstyle resembles Brian McFadden, former member of Westlife, a hugely popular Irish boy band (which disbanded a couple of years ago).
