Type-0053, codenamed "Justice," (ジャスティス) is the first boss of The House of the Dead 4. It appears near the end of Chapter 1 when it suddenly grabs James Taylor and Kate Green. It chases James and Kate through the sewers until it is defeated. It also later appears during Chapter 1 of The House of the Dead 4: Special battling G and Kate. It is large and has four arms. It’s weak point is shown to be it’s mouth, and throwing a grenade near the mouth will make Justice swallow it (thus the grenade explodes inside it) and will cancel it’s attack meter.

Justice relentlessly pursues his prey in an attempt to grab, bite, or drop-kick them. His weak point is his tongue, which is susceptible to gunfire and grenades.
Shooting it’s legs will also cause minimal damage, but is almost useless. However, some players have been known to use this to rack up accuracy points during the first-type attack phase. Trying this on the second type of attack would cause certain damage to the player(s).

Bestiary Overview
Justice has two methods of attack. The first method is to chase the player(s) through the sewers with its arms open to grab them (leading to a Shake phase). As long as its cancel bar is not depleted fully, it will continue this up to four times. For the fifth time, it would repeat the process, but this time the player would not be able to shake it off and would receive damage. As previously stated, throwing a grenade near Justice would cause it to swallow it and automatically cancel this attack phase.

Justice is a massive one-eyed humanoid with tattered clothing, decaying skin, and exposed sections of muscle. He has a long tongue and sharp teeth. He has two extra arms protruding from his back. His four arms are noticeably shackled.

As long as his cancel bar is not fully depleted, Justice repeats the attack up to four times. The fifth time he grabs the players, they cannot shake it off and will be damaged.
For the second method of attack, Justice will charge towards the player(s) with it’s arm covering it’s face. After taking a number of steps, it will then drop down and kick the player(s) as it falls. Grenades are effective as well, but must be timed correctly due to the boss walking toward the player.

In his second attack, Justice pursues players with his face covered. After four steps, he jumps and kicks the player as he falls.
Bestiary Overview
The beast is a 20 foot tall walking monstrosity with an additional two arms and several sections of exposed muscle on its decaying skin. It is unknown how the beast gained two arms, but it does make him more agile when moving through narrow spaces and more deadly. Judging by the shackles wrapped on his wrists, the beast must have been a human subject brutally tested on, meaning the mutation was made for destructive purposes. It is also unknown on why his tongue is the source of his weakness, but it could be that the tissue is not as strong as his skin.

Throughout the fight, throwing a grenade near Justice causes him to swallow it; the resulting explosion automatically cancels an attack phase.

  +
Overview
Justice hides behind the walls on your side (like Death in HOTD3). Be ready to shake your gun. Once Justice grabs you through the wall, shake your gun vigorously to avoid being slammed against the wall. Prepare your grenades, you'll need them...

  +
In both of his appearances, Justice is a persistent foe who boasts a mixture of direct and grab-based attacks; the latter of these can be escaped by completing "escape" sequences (either by shaking the controller or, in the case of The House of the Dead 4 Special<nowiki/>'s arcade version, rapidly pressing a button). However, this cannot be done forever, as Justice's grab attacks will become inescapable after he captures player(s) enough times. His weak point -- his tongue -- is a relatively easy target, but in certain attack phases can be more difficult to track. The effect of throwing grenades at Justice varies between games.

  +
In The House of the Dead 4, Justice mainly uses grab-based attacks but may also attempt drop kicking the player. Two of his attack phases are also random. Once per attack phase, a grenade may be thrown at Justice, causing him to eat it; the grenade will explode, immediately ending the phase.
In HOTD4 SP, Justice skips the grab sequence and simply goes to Round 3.

  +
Justice's refight in In The House of the Dead 4 Special is noticeably shorter and features one new attack phase. He also does not swallow grenades and instead lose a small amount of health if a grenade explodes nearby.

The House of the Dead 4
This is one of the more difficult portions of the fight. Justice defends his face with both hands to avoid extensive damage as he approaches you. Since his hands are immune to

damage, the cancel bar depletes very slowly. If he comes near enough, he'll jump and dropkick you with his feet. Justice will not pursue you if you shoot his mouth.

Author's Notes
* BOSS' MAIN POINT OF VULNERABILITY / HOW TO "OWN" JUSTICE:

Justice's tongue is exposed most of the time. You can shoot it if he simply runs towards you. When he defends his face, shoot at his tongue and once a gap appears between his fingers, a crosshair appears, which gives you a chance to chuck a grenade RIGHT INTO HIS MOUTH. If done correctly, he will sit back and witness himself eat a huge explosion, blowing off THE ENTIRE CANCEL GAUGE for that round. NEVER use a grenade if Justice simply runs to grab you.

  +
The House of the Dead 4 Special
* BOSS' HIGH ACCURACY TRICK:

When Justice runs to grab you, shoot his LEFT THIGH all the time. Though you will inflict little damage, you can knock off 20 to 25% of his cancel bar for the round. When he grabs you, just shake your SMG to quickly break free. However, note that every time Justice grabs you, the bar will fill more slowly when you shake your gun. Doing this cat-and-mouse game for four times

is enough. If Justice catches you for the 5th or 6th time, the success bar is almost impossible to fill up no matter how hard you shake your gun. If you do this trick each time Justice runs to catch you, your accuracy can be boosted up by about 5 to 10%.

Revision as of 21:22, 26 June 2020

There's persistent... And then there's just plain annoying!

Type-0053, codenamed "Justice" (ジャスティス, Jasutisu?), was a shackled four-armed, long-tongued behemoth. He[1] is the first boss in The House of the Dead 4, The House of the Dead 4 Special, and Loving Deads: The House of the Dead EX.

Justice relentlessly pursues his prey in an attempt to grab, bite, or drop-kick them. His weak point is his tongue, which is susceptible to gunfire and grenades.

Bestiary Overview

Justice is a massive one-eyed humanoid with tattered clothing, decaying skin, and exposed sections of muscle. He has a long tongue and sharp teeth. He has two extra arms protruding from his back. His four arms are noticeably shackled.

Justice has two attacks. He first chases players with open arms, attempting to grab them; shaking the gun escapes his grasp. As long as his cancel bar is not fully depleted, Justice repeats the attack up to four times. The fifth time he grabs the players, they cannot shake it off and will be damaged.

In his second attack, Justice pursues players with his face covered. After four steps, he jumps and kicks the player as he falls.

Throughout the fight, throwing a grenade near Justice causes him to swallow it; the resulting explosion automatically cancels an attack phase.

Appearances

The House of the Dead 4

The House of the Dead 4 Special

After James' sacrifice to stop Goldman's final creation, the World, Kate teamed with agent "G" to fight the outbreak back to its source. Driving through the creature-infested streets to an unidentified building, the agents were attacked by Justice, who they defeated after a battle.

Loving Deads: The House of the Dead EX

Justice appears as the boss of the first chapter, ambushing Zobio and Zobiko in the sewers. The boss battle involves players shooting the rows of bad teeth in Justice's mouth.
