The Wiki of the Dead

...And just hand one a chainsaw and watch it go - it's like a kid with a new toy on Christmas morning! It makes this old man's heart swell to think that I could bring that kind of joy into the world.

Dr. Roy Curien's journal entry[[src]]

Samson is an obese chainsaw-wielding creature. He originally appears in The House of the Dead, and returns in House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn.

The first "fat" enemy encountered in the House of the Dead franchise, Samson can survive multiple shots to the belly; his head -- as with every humanoid creature in the games -- is a vital weak point. His chainsaw can also deflect bullets.

Judging by their similar type numbers, it is likely that Samson (C-1) is related to two other obese creatures in The House of the Dead: Bentley (C-2) and Burner (C-3). Burner behaves the most identical to Samson, except that it attacks instead with a blowtorch.

History

Samson was originally created by geneticist Dr. Roy Curien, who sought biological experimentation as a means to cure his terminally-ill son Daniel. The DBR Corporation financed Curien's pursuit, but he became obsessed with controlling life and death. On December 18th, 1998, he released Samson and other creatures into his mansion. Members of Curien's research team were slaughtered. AMS agents Thomas Rogan and G neutralized the threat.

Samson would reappear on December 26th, 2006, recreated by Curien's associate Thornheart to wreck havoc in Scarecrow Mansion. Thornheart sought continuing Curien and financier Caleb Goldman's ambitions, using the creatures a plan to decimate humanity called "Noah's Ark". The plan was investigated by AMS agents Ryan Taylor and Kate Green.

Bestiary Overview

In both of his appearances, Samson wears overalls and carries a chainsaw. In The House of the Dead, his right arm can be blasted off; without his chainsaw, he will attempt to shoulder tackle the player. He dies faster with two headshots.

In contrast, he cannot be dismembered in House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn. His health pool is large to where he can withstand over two headshots before dying.
