Sega (also known as Sega Games Co., Ltd.) is a Japanese-based video game developer and publisher. The company has two international branches, Sega of America and Sega of Europe. From its foundation in 1960 to the present, the company has developed and released a multitude of video games, arcade cabinets, toys, and until 2001, home consoles.[1]

The company has produced multi-million dollar franchises, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Total War, and Yakuza. It is also the largest producer of arcade games in the world.

In 1996, Sega released The House of the Dead, with Takashi Oda serving as the creative director. Since then, it has spawned into a popular franchise with many main titles and spin-offs.
