(Vampire Night, Sega Golden Gun, and others)
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing (ソニック&セガオールスターズレーシング, Sonikku ando Sega Ōru-Sutāzu Rēshingu ) is a kart racing video game developed by Sumo Digital and released by Sega on February 23rd, 2010 for the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, and Windows PC.
The game features characters and settings inspired by popular Sega franchises. The House of the Dead is represented by a Curien Mansion-themed racetrack and Loving Deads: The House of the Dead EX protagonists Zobio and Zobiko being playable characters.
Development of The House of the Dead content[]
Sumo Digital saw The House of the Dead as an "iconic" Sega IP, and thus worthy of inclusion in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. The team couldn't use certain characters and enemies due to All-Stars Racing's age rating.[1]
While meeting the House of the Dead team in Japan, Sumo Digital was shown a prototype of Loving Deads: The House of the Dead EX. They felt EX's art direction meshed with All-Stars Racing's "hyper realistic cartoon ethos", so they decided to include elements from that game.[1]
Only Zobiko's Japanese voice actor and Zobio's English voice actor were available. Concluding that it would be strange having the duo speak contrasting languages, Sumo Digital only gave Zobio spoken lines.[1]
