Splendid... The moment when existence turns to nothingness in a flash of brilliance... Nothing is more beautiful than the moment of death...

Chapter intro[src]

Sword Dance Sonata (剣舞奏鳴曲, Kenbu soumeikyoku?) is the second chapter of Vampire Night. It is associated with Bathe'lemy.

Branching Paths

There are three branching paths. The first path requires the player to shoot the Velocipher before it drags Caroline down from the bridge and not kill two Velociphers chasing Caroline before they scroll off the screen. The second path has the same first action as the first path but requires the player to kill two Velociphers chasing Caroline before they scroll off the screen and not shoot a flimsy door to head down. The third path has the same first two actions as the second path but requires the player to the flimsy door to head to the roof. The fourth path requires the Velocipher to drag Caroline down from the bridge and kill a clockwise moving Morlet first (alternatively, both Morlets surrounding Caroline are not killed within a time limit). The fifth path has the same first action as the fourth path but requires a counter clockwise moving Morlet to be killed first and not kill a Morlet before it jumps off the screen. The sixth path has the same first two actions as the fifth path but requires the Morlet to be killed before it jumps off the screen.

Synopsis

Vampire hunters Michel and Albert, along with Caroline, travel through a village clearing out vampires while saving villagers infected by the Sarcoma. When they arrive in the village square, a group of Velociphers confronts them only for Bathe'lemy to appear and order his minions to withdraw. Impressed by the hunters' skill, Bathe'lemy challenges the hunters to a duel, chasing them through, and eventually out of, the village with his sword drawn. Cornering the hunters in the entrance hall of the castle, Bathe'lemy transforms into his true, more heavily armored form, turning both of his arms into swords, but is still defeated by the hunters. Reverting back to his human state, Bathe'lemy asks why the hunters chose to protect the humans before dying from his wounds.
