(Overkill, EX, Zombie Revenge, and others)
- For the light gun game, see Loving Deads: The House of the Dead EX.
The House of the Dead EX is a slot machine themed after The House of the Dead III. It was developed by International Game Technology.[1] Despite sharing the same subtitle, the game has no connection to the light gun game Loving Deads: The House of the Dead EX.
Gameplay[]
The machine displays 5 slots containing 3 rows of symbols. To earn credits, players must make a row of at least 3 symbols together. Making a row of Barrys earns up to 200 credits. Making a row of Jacks yields approximately 300 credits. Making a row of Raymonds brings at most 500 credits. Lastly, making a row of House of the Dead icons deposits around 5000 credits. You can also earn credits for scoring rows of Murrers, bullets, Tarans and Devilons.
Special Symbols[]
Three special symbols can appear in the slots: Wild, Scatter, and Bonus.
Wild[]
Wild only appears in columns 2 through 5 only. If a row of any of the aforementioned symbols are made combined with the Wild symbol, the Wild substitutes for the symbol, allowing players to receive the specified credits.
Scatter[]
You can also place wagers in hopes that you will roll this symbol. If three or more of these symbols are rolled, you can earn up to 100 times the bet you made in credits.
Bonus[]
Bonus is represented by G and Lisa Rogan within a golden frame. If three or more of these appear, a bonus minigame is triggered. The player is prompted to choose between 3 doors by tapping on the screen. Then, they are allowed to shoot 3 creatures, each of them yielding a randomly generated credit number. Once the player is finished, they are returned to the main screen.[2]

Trivia[]
- When spinning the slot machine, shortened versions of the Magician's theme and the Boss theme from The House of the Dead 2 can be heard.
- If Scatter is scored, a short animation of Death is played within the symbol.
- When bonus is triggered, a cutscene similar to the opening of Chasing Shadows is played, but the background is darker and the animation is rougher.
- Although the game is based on The House of the Dead III, the title design is based on that of The House of the Dead.
